چکیده

Background . Subungual squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of thumb is a rare disease. However, it the most common malignancy affecting nail bed. Early recognition crucial and important for prompt diagnosis effective treatment. Often this tumour needs to be treated surgically with wide local resection, which results in defect thumb. If not handled appropriately, such defects render restriction functionality involved as well poor aesthetic outcome. In worst-case scenario, may result function hand. Thus, reconstruction necessary. The main aim regain hands' preserved thumbs' sensation. Secondarily, have an aesthetically pleasing Our hands carry out delegate job duty daily function. Especially, working together other fingers hand one unit. Loss affects whole performance Case descriptions We report case recurrent subungual thumb, had resection subsequently underwent soft tissue coverage islanded first dorsal metacarpal artery (FDMA) perforator flap. One month after surgery, patient was able good functional outcome report, we discussed procedures that been done. Conclusion regained full sensation over distal satisfactory. FDMA flap very pliable robust defect.

Sensate first dorsal metacarpal artery flap for resurfacing extensive pulp defects of the thumb.

Finding an appropriate soft-tissue grafting material to close a wound located over the distal phalanx of the thumb, especially the pulp region, can be a difficult task. A sensate first dorsal metacarpal artery flap, mobilized from the dorsum of the adjacent index finger and used as an island pedicle skin flap, can be useful for this purpose. The pedicle includes the ulnar branch of the first do...
